Subject: [PhilConcerns] UPDATE – ICHRP alerts the international community as PH fast-tracks “terror bill”

Dear friends and colleagues,

We’re sending you the statement of International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines on the railroaded Anti-Terrorism Bill which was passed yesterday in the Philippine Congress and now awaits President Duterte’s signature.

We have been firm in opposing this proposed legislation and have been supportive of the Filipino’s fight for their civil and political rights.

Below are some of the local and international coverage in which you may share both in English and Spanish:
1. Calls mount vs ‘urgent’ anti-terrorism bill
2. Duterte urges House to fast-track passage of ‘Anti-Terror Bill’
3. ICHRP alerts the international community as PH fast-tracks “terror bill”
2. Preocupación en Filipinas por la nueva ley antiterrorista de Duterte (Español)

The full statement is attached and can also be found via our website: https://ichrp.net/ichrp-alerts-the-international-community-as-ph-fast-tracks-terror-bill/

You may follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates on the issues.

Let’s us show the world that we are one with Filipinos in their call to— #JUNKTERRORBILL

Best,

ICHRP Manila-based Secretariat
