The Campaign for Human Rights in the Philippines – United Kingdom strongly condemns the abhorrent mass murder of 14 agricultural workers by the PNP (Philippine National Police on 30th March 2019. The Negros region has been consistently targeted by police and military operations against peasant leaders.
This appalling massacre once more demonstrates the impunity for the Philippine National Police and military under President Duterte. CHRP-UK supports the investigation started by the Philippine Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and demands that the perpetrators of this massacre be brought to justice.
CHRP-UK continues to call on the Duterte regime to end its war on the poor which has already led to more than 20,000 extra-judicial killings. We stand with the victims’ families and friends and offer them our sincere condolences at this sad time.
